Former Bolton striker Johan Elmander joins Galatasaray

Johan Elmander has signed a three-year deal with Turkish side Galatasaray after his release by Bolton.

The 29-year-old Sweden striker's contract at the Reebok Stadium expired at the end of the 2010-11 season and so the Trotters will not receive a fee.

Bolton Wanderers sign David Wheater from Middlesbrough

Bolton have signed centre-back David Wheater from Middlesbrough on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

The 23-year-old is believed to have made the move for an initial £2.3m with a further £1.5m based on appearances. "There has been a lot of competition for his signature and again this shows a willingness on our behalf to invest in youth," said Bolton boss Owen Coyle. "We have parted with good money for a very talented player who has been involved with England squads before."
