Nelsen agrees Rovers extension

Blackburn captain Ryan Nelsen has signed a two-year contract extension at Ewood Park.
The deal on Friday could effectively keep the 32-year-old at the club for the rest of his career.

The news comes a day after Blackburn boss Steve Kean signed a contract extension to keep him in charge at Ewood Park until the summer of 2013.

Nelsen had been a huge fan of former boss Sam Allardyce and was upset following his recent departure, but is now fully behind Kean.

"It is a real positive that we are heading in the right direction," he told Sky Sports News concerning Kean's extension.

The New Zealand defender joined Blackburn in 2005 and has made 164 appearances for Rovers.
